For the 40 years anniversary celebrations 1998 Fighterbomberwing 32 colours after 10 years for the first time again a jet with a special scheme. 10 years before that the celebrations for the 30 year anniversary together with a big air tattoo were canceled because of the Ramstein desaster. But sure as hell, also 1988 a desaster happened. A few days before the planned air tattoo a fast train crashed in a terrible accident and because of the services for the 101 dead, held on the same day as the air tattoo was planned, it was again cancelled by higher headquarter.

But not only in regards to the celebrations the wing was unfortunate: the tornado 46+47 crashed 2007 in a sad and spectacular accident in Switzerland when it hit a high mountain. The pilot was killed and the WSO survived with minor injuries hanging with his parachute in this many hundred meter high rock.
